Food

The 425 Skala International Legion provides full meals to service members in accordance with the nutritional standards used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Meals are planned to keep soldiers properly nourished, physically capable, and prepared for intensive training and service requirements.

DAILY MEALS

During normal unit routine, three main meals are provided each day:

Substantial breakfast

Lunch

Dinner

Meals are designed to provide sufficient energy for military activity and may include:

meat · fish · eggs · grains · pasta · vegetables · salads · bread · dairy products · fruit · soups · beverages and other nutritional items

The nutritional standard used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine is approximately 3,500 kcal per day under normal conditions.

FOOD DURING OPERATIONS

When a service member is operating in the field and normal unit meal facilities are not available, an individual combat ration kit is provided.

The kit is designed for field use, uses durable packaging, and contains food that is ready to eat or simple to prepare.

The individual ration is intended to provide enough energy to keep the service member functional during extended periods away from the base.

COMBAT RATIONS

The kit may include:

ready-to-eat complete meals

soups and meat dishes

grains

biscuits and crackers

coffee and tea

sugar

honey or jam

dried fruit

chocolate

additional items for preparation and consumption

Depending on the ration configuration, flameless food heaters may also be included.

ENERGY VALUE

A standard daily field ration provides approximately:

3,500 kcal

Under more demanding combat conditions, reinforced rations may provide approximately:

4,100 kcal
